Green Thumb

Finally after months of delay (due to laziness :p), I was able to push through with the landscaping of our path way. With the help of my aunt who came all the way from Bicol in time for her short vacation, I was able to come up with a pleasant (sana) landscape.


My tita, who is a nun/missionary based to different remote areas in the Philippines has a green thumb like her sister, my mother. So do I. :p


8am, she arrived to our house, had a breakfast then we planned about how our pathway landscape will look like. She reckoned of removing the 2-foot money trees already planted for they will grow tall not appropriate for the design of our pathway.


With my sister, my aunt went to Guiguinto, the Garden City of Bulacan to buy loam soil and clay pots. I was not able to join her because I had to settle the payment of the two memorial lots we acquired 2 days ago. The memorial park is great. Every epitaph is uniform and our loved ones were just laid in equal footing. Same material, same grass. No extravagant designs of tomb. Plain, simple and uniform.


Going back to the landscape...


We started gardening after lunch. Old plants were removed and additional soil was added to create a landscape appeal. To avoid soil spilling, we put scrap fan tiles and bricks excess from the driveway and columns of our gate. Small plants then were put in at the bottom of the landscape for they will grow fast but not bushy. Some money trees were replanted at the middle portion for accent.


Haayy, the sun was up. Ang init! We had to finish this. hehehe (to avoid too much exposure from the sun.) For final touch, I added small garden stones I bought a month ago.
